Tottenham Hotspur are very busy in the transfer market.
Ange Postecoglou’s side haven’t signed anyone since bringing in Archie Gray from Leeds United, but they are working really hard to get deals done behind the scenes.
All eyes are on who Johan Lange will bring in before the window shuts, but there are still a few Tottenham players who could be sold as well in the coming weeks.
A brand-new update has now emerged about one of them.
Tottenham could sell Emerson Royal by Friday
Emerson Royal’s future has been up in the air since the start of the summer transfer window.
The ‘unbelievable‘ Brazilian fell below Pedro Porro in Postecoglou’s pecking order in the 2023/24 season, and he isn’t expected to be the first-choice again at Spurs.
Emerson has expressed his unhappiness about his game time, and it has been widely reported that he is up for sale this summer.
AC Milan have been chasing Emerson for over a month now, but Ben Jacobs shared some surprising news on that front earlier on Thursday.
The journalist revealed on GiveMeSport that ‘AC Milan have made a major U-turn’ on the Tottenham defender. He revealed that Emerson is no longer a priority for Rossoneri because they now prefer to strengthen their attack and midfield.
However, Gianluca Di Marzio has now shared a completely different update.
The Italian journalist has revealed that after a ‘long negotiation’, Milan are now just waiting for the green light from Tottenham for the sale of Emerson.
Di Marzio has further revealed that “the operation is closing and the ok should arrive between today, Thursday 8 August, and Friday, 9 August.”
If the above update is to be believed, Tottenham will have sold Emerson before their game against Bayern Munich.
Tottenham have three right-backs on their shortlist to replace Emerson
Tottenham have Djed Spence back at the club now, while Archie Gray has also shown that he can play as a right-back when required.
That led to many people believing Spurs may not sign a replacement for Emerson if he leaves, but that’s not the case at all.
TBR Football can exclusively reveal that Tottenham are considering re-signing Kyle Walker-Peters, while they are also interested in Fiorentina’s Michael Kayode and Manchester City’s Issa Kabore.
All three defenders are excellent options, but it remains to be seen if any of them would be willing to join Spurs to be their second-choice right-back behind Porro.
Monaco’s Vanderson was been linked with a move to Tottenham, but those rumours have gone quiet over the last few weeks.
