Aston Villa have been the Premier League’s biggest spenders this summer transfer window and they’re still keen to add further additions.
Unai Emery’s men are preparing for Champions League football this season and have prepared accordingly, bringing in eight new signings with Amadou Onana the statement signing from Everton.
Sporting director Monchi is now turning his attention toward a wide player and it’s just emerged that talks have been held to sign one.

Aston Villa hold talks to sign Baris Alper Yilmaz
According to Turkish outlet Fotospor, Aston Villa have held talks with Galatasaray about Baris Alper Yilmaz.
Liverpool submitted a bid for Yilmaz last week but evidently, the Super Lig champions knocked back the approach.
Galatasaray will only sanction his sale if an offer in excess of £25m arrives, which Villa could launch in the coming days.
It’s thought Emery views Yilmaz as an Emi Buendia replacement, so he’d likely join as a rotation option with scope to nail down a starting place.
Virgil van Dijk struggled against Baris Alper Yilmaz at Euro 2024
Turkey enjoyed a positive showing at Euro 2024 in Germany and Yilmaz was front and centre in that.
Despite suffering a 2-1 defeat to Netherlands in the semi-finals, Virgil van Dijk admitted he found it really tough to play against the fleet-footed wide player.
“Baris Alper Yilmaz was running constantly. He was running elusive. It was difficult for every defender,” the Dutch defender said, via Milliyet.
“He made it very hard for us. He couldn’t score a goal though. If we were to describe him in any way, he is a really important player.”
So, if perhaps the world’s best centre-back found it tough against him, then evidently Villa could be getting a really top-level winger.
