Report: Tottenham now confident about signing £100,000-a-week player when he returns from Euro 2024

Tottenham now believe they can fend off competition to sign one of Ange Postecoglou’s primary targets when he gets back from Euro 2024.

Spurs have already started to get active in the market, seeing a £20m bid for Aston Villa No.41 Jacob Ramsey – which also included Giovani Lo Celso – rejected by the Villans.

Now – regardless of what happens with that deal – it is said that Tottenham are confident they can sign one of the best players in the Premier League this summer…

Tottenham believe they can sign Ebere Eze

A story from The Times now states that Tottenham are confident about signing Crystal Palace No.10 Ebere Eze.

The £100,000-a-week man is currently busy in Germany with the England squad at Euro 2024, where he has only been afforded 21 minutes of action by Gareth Southgate.

It is said that Tottenham believe they can hold off competition until Eze returns to London, and those inside Spurs are by no means put off by the attacking midfielder’s £60m release clause.

The Times add that Spurs plan to accelerate negotiations once the 25-year-old’s involvement at Euro 2024 ends, and will push to sign the man from Greenwich regardless of whether Aston Villa allow Ramsey to move to N17 or not.

Despite several injuries, Eze still enjoyed a fantastic 2023/24 campaign for Crystal Palace, scoring 11 goals while also providing four assists in 27 Premier League appearances.

The Eagles have already lost Michael Olise to Bayern Munich, and Give Me Sport believe that deal involving Eze’s close friend has increased the chances of him leaving Selhurst Park as well this summer.

£60m deal could take James Maddison to another level

Some may see this deal as a way of Ange Postecoglou replacing James Maddison, who also plays in attacking midfield – the England international missed out on Southgate’s Euro 2024 squad, having scored just once in his final 19 Premier League games last season.

However, we believe this deal could actually ignite a spark in the Tottenham No.10 next term.

Maddison was seemingly devastated to be left out by Southgate, with Eze effectively taking his spot, so if he then arrives at Tottenham as well, it will surely provide the Coventry-born playmaker with plenty of motivation fuel.
