Report: Tottenham now pushing to sign 'terrific' £20m midfielder as Hojbjerg exit nears

Tottenham are looking to accelerate their plans in the transfer market and could now be set to do a deal involving a £20m fee and a £27m signing.

Spurs have been linked with a move for a new midfielder all summer and despite signing Archie Gray from Leeds, there’s a feeling at the club that another is needed.

Further, with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg set to move to Marseille as well, a hole in the midfield will appear.

Luckily for Tottenham fans, it looks like Daniel Levy and his transfer committee have things in hand.

According to reports from South American outlet DirectTV Sports, Tottenham already have a new midfielder in mind and are preparing a £20m cash-plus-player deal to get it done.

According to the report, Tottenham are planning on accelerating their plans to sign Aston Villa star Ramsey.

It’ claimed that Spurs will offer around £20m in cash for Ramsey and also throw in Giovani Lo Celso into the mix as well.

Unai Emery is believed to be a big fan of Lo Celso having worked with him in Spain and is more than happy to bring him to Aston Villa.

As we know, Ramsey has been mentioned as a player of interest to Tottenham for the last few months now.

Now, it looks like Tottenham could be about to get their wish and land one of the most ‘terrific‘ young talents in the Premier League right now.

Tottenham are looking to improve on last season where, in the end, they just fell away from the race to finish fourth behind Aston Villa.

Villa, of course, have been busy this summer already and any money they do get for Ramsey can be counted as pure profit when it comes to PSR.
