The summer transfer window might only just be behind us but it looks like Tottenham are already planning a new signing for January.
Tottenham acted quickly in the summer market to get a number of big deals done.
Dominic Solanke arrived for a club-record fee, while around £40m was spent on both Archie Gray and Wilson Odobert from the Championship.
Alongside those, Lucas Bergvall has been widely lauded for his impact in pre-season, while where is also excitement at Tottenham over young winger Min-Hyeok yang.
However, while those players are the future for Tottenham, the club already have eyes on the January window and could now make a move for AC Milan forward, Noah Okafor.
Tottenham ready to pay £20m to sign Noah Okafor
According to a report from Milan Live, Tottenham hold a keen interest in signing Okafor from Milan and are willing to spend big in January to get him.
The report claims that Spurs are willing to front up to £20m to sign Okafor and also include certain bonuses to make sure the deal is done.
Okafor has not quite hit the ground running at Milan and is now said to be down the pecking order under new manager, Paulo Fonseca.
Lauded for being a ‘wonderful‘ talent, it wasn’t too long ago that Leeds United had a big interest in signing Okafor.
Arsenal have also shown an interest in Okafor back in 2023.
Okafor might not be the answer for Spurs
At 24, Okafor might still have the best years of his career ahead of him but you do question if he is what Tottenham need right now.
He has 22 caps for Switzerland but has scored just twice, while for AC Milan, he’s not even into double figures despite making more than 40 appearances.
Tottenham need players who are going to take them to new levels now.
Okafor, then, might not be good enough to do that and for £20m and more, Tottenham may well find better value out there in the market.
