Report: Tottenham scouts wowed by £8m Manchester United target likened to Angel Di Maria

Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United may not be flying high on the pitch at present, but they’ve both made some great signings in recent years.

For instance, Spurs have landed the likes of Pape Matar Sarr, Destiny Udogie, Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray over the past few seasons.

Meanwhile, the Red Devils have brought Leny Yoro, Manuel Ugarte, Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund to Old Trafford over the past 15 or so months.

Now, Tottenham have reportedly joined Manchester United in scouting a former Liverpool target who has been compared to Argentina icon Angel Di Maria.

Tottenham and Manchester United set sights on Chile star Dario Osorio

The player in question is FC Midtjylland attacker Dario Osorio, who has been making a real name for himself in Denmark over the past year.

According to GiveMeSport, Tottenham have joined Man United in scouting the 20-year-old Chile international.

Indeed, Spurs scouts have been left impressed by Osorio, added the report.

Fellow Premier League clubs Crystal Palace and Brentford, plus Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund, are reportedly also keeping tabs on Osorio.

Liverpool were previously credited with an interest in the winger.

As per La Tercera, the Reds were keen on signing the 20-year-old for a reported fee of £7.8million last summer.

Who is Tottenham and Man United target Dario Osorio?

Dario Osorio is a professional footballer who plies his trade for Danish outfit FC Midtjylland and represents Chile at international level.

Osorio was born in the Chilean city of Hijuelas on 20 January 2004.

He joined the Universidad the Chile youth setup in 2015 after spells with Santiago Wanderers and Escuela Municipal Hijuelas.

Osorio’s big break came when he left Universidad de Chile for a move to Midtjylland last year for a reported fee of around £4million.

He has made 40 competitive appearances for the Danish club and helped them win the league title last season.

Two years ago, Football Talent Scout’s Jacek Kulig gave his verdict on Osorio.

Osorio was deemed a ‘flamboyant winger’ with great pace, dribbling skills, ball control, creativity, first touch and versatility.

The left-footer’s style of play was compared to that of Angel Di Maria and he was given an 8 out of 10 for potential.
