'Ridiculous' - Ex-Everton employee blasts John Textor after what he's done in bid to buy Toffees

Bryan King has slammed John Textor’s “ridiculous” decision to contact the Premier League amid his interest in a takeover deal at Everton.

The ex-Goodison scout doesn’t believe the Crystal Palace part-owner should be given preferential treatment.

It comes after Alan Nixon reported via his Patreon (2 June) that Textor is seeking Premier League approval to purchase a majority share in Everton before selling his Palace shares.

Current Premier League rules prevent individuals from having an interest in two clubs at the same time.

And King – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – is not a fan of Textor’s actions.

“If there is a rule in place, then that rule should be accepted,” King said.

“It is ridiculous. If he wants to get out of Palace, then he needs to sell his shares.

“You can’t tell me he’s only been trying for the past two weeks.”

John Textor could become a hero among Everton supporters at Goodison Park

It appears Textor is seriously interested in purchasing Everton.

By contacting the Premier League, he has made his intentions very clear.

However, he faces a race against time to unload his Palace shares.

Even if he is offered a grace period, this is not a long-term solution.

If Textor wants to complete a takeover at Goodison Park, he needs to find a way out of Palace.
