Ryan Jack is “sure” that Rangers will revel in Aberdeen thinking they will be able to “get something” from their clash on Wednesday (30 October).
The Gers are six points adrift of unbeaten Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership and are looking to halve that deficit at Pittodrie, though the gap to rivals Celtic also stands at six.
Speaking to PLZ Soccer (30 October) before the game, Jack thinks it will suit Rangers that Aderdeen will try to be a bit more expansive.
“They’ll [Aberdeen] maybe recognise there’s a lot of pressure on at Rangers at the minute with the manager and above and the supporters and everything that has gone on at the club,” he said.
“Results have been okay but they’re not really seeing domestically teams off so maybe Aberdeen will think they can come and have a go and get something from the game but hopefully that suits Rangers and I’m sure it will.
“If Aberdeen open up, there will be a lot of space for Rangers forward players to go and exploit.”
Rangers need to win against Aberdeen
The Gers have already lost 3-0 to Old Firm rivals Celtic earlier in the season and it feels like their game against the Dons is one of the most important of their stuttering campaign thus far.
Rangers were expected to mount a decent title challenge against Celtic this term but, thus far, it’s been Jimmy Thelin’s men who have taken on the biggest battle.
A win at Pittodrie would not only settle things down at the club but would also relieve an awful lot of pressure from the shoulders of Clement and his squad.
Many of the Gers’ players have had decent campaigns this season but it feels like the Belgian will more than likely be looking towards the in-form Vaclav Cerny to boost the Gers’ chances of coming away with all three points.
Clement’s men will have to be on top of their game on Wednesday evening because, if they lose, it could result in the premature end of the Belgian’s Ibrox tenure.
