Everton are prepared to offer Bobby Decordova-Reid a long-term contract as he looks set to depart Fulham on a free transfer this summer, according to TBR Football.

The Toffees are working on a small budget this summer due to financial concerns that plagued the club over the course of last season.

This could see Everton look to operate in the free transfer market and with that, they are now considering a move for Jamaica international Decordova-Reid.

Graeme Bailey has reported (5 June) that Sean Dyche is ready to offer “a long-term deal at Everton” to the versatile forward to add to his squad next season.

After contract issues with Fulham [TEAMtalk] the former Bristol City man is considering his options ahead of confirming his future.

There is interest from the Toffees as well as Leeds United with a move to Goodison Park surely being more promising than the Championship.

Signing players on free and cheaper deals this summer is going to be important for Dyche to avoid any further points deductions.

Farhad Moshiri has looked to sell the club which is failing right now which will leave the Toffees scraping around the bargain bins this summer.

It must be said that Decordova-Reid could prove to be a useful piece of business on a free transfer regardless of his fee.

Last season he scored six and assisted two in the Premier League across 17 starts and an additional 16 starts under Marco Silva [FotMob].

He will add strength in depth on the wings as well as being an option as a striker if needed which is only a positive.

On a free transfer, he would represent a positive start to the transfer window even if not much money is available to spend.

In other Everton news, the Toffees’ position has been explained by a lawyer as Manchester City launch Premier League action.
