Sean Dyche sack latest: Everton could now agree 'German manager deal'

The Friedkin Group could appoint a foreign manager once they complete their impending Everton takeover, according to The i.

They are “consistently” claimed to be undecided on current Toffees boss Sean Dyche but the Roma owners are reportedly know to be “big fans” the German school of management.

Their takeover from Farhad Moshiri is expected to be completed within a week or two and while an immediate change at manager is considered unlikely it is a question that needs answering.

A new board is set to be announced immediately after their buy-out is confirmed, followed by a new executive team tasked with multiple “pressing” questions from the off.

Dyche’s contract expires in the summer and has still not spoken to anyone connected to the new owners, so it is thought “possible” that an overseas manager could come in to “re-energise” the club.

Sean Dyche unlikely to stay at Everton after Farhad Moshiri sale

Football Insider opinion

Whether straight away or at the end of the season it is hard to envisage the new owners not ultimately making a change at manager.

Dyche’s Everton may have finally produced a result with the 4-0 thrashing of Gary O’Neil’s struggling Wolves on 4 December.

But the Molineux boss is on the brink of the sack himself and the Toffees’ form otherwise hasn’t shown anything to suggest the ex-Burnley manager is the man to lead them into a new era.

Farhad Moshiri appointed Sean Dyche Everton boss as a firefighter.

It can’t be overlooked that Dyche did what he was brought into do, by keeping the club in the Premier League twice during a period of near-constant turmoil off the pitch as Moshiri tried to offload the club.

If he looks like threatening that record the third time around then Friedkin and company would surely have no hesitation in making a change, but otherwise may let his contract run out.

The 4-0 loss to Man United in the previous game was not the sort of thing the Roma chiefs will have in mind for their time in charge, in a new waterfront stadium, so it would be a surprise if Dyche was handed a contract extension.

In other news, a near-£3billion financial update has emerged ahead of the Friedkins’ Everton takeover.
