'Serious money' - Wenham drops fresh Tottenham investment claim as Daniel Levy continues talks

John Wenham would welcome fresh investment at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose claims people with new ideas and money will always be welcome at the club.

It comes after the Sun on Sunday reported (page 56, 22 September) that Mehrdad Ghodoussi was invited to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for the 1-0 defeat to Arsenal (15 September). During his visit, a potential cash injection was discussed in the background of the North London derby.

Ghodoussi’s wife and business partner, Amanda Staveley, has put a team together with Middle Eastern cash and other backers to buy a percentage of Tottenham.

And Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes Staveley has “serious money” to play with.

“You never know with these things,” Wenham said.

“Those talks could have been about anything investment-related. However, there does seem to be some continued talks with Staveley. We’re obviously talking about serious money here.

“I’m not quite sure what happened at Newcastle. However, Tottenham do need something fresh. The club need people with new ideas, new money, and new contacts.

“Those people are always welcome at the club. Therefore, watch this space.”

Daniel Levy open to investment opportunities at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Levy recently expressed at a fans’ forum held at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Monday (23 September) that the club are open to investment opportunities (via BBC Sport, 25 September).

The Spurs chairman insisted that there is nothing for the club to announce at the moment. However, if these talks with Staveley and her people continue, that could soon change.

As a result, fans might soon have some very exciting news coming their way. However, that investment will only be meaningful to those Spurs fans if it is used to back Ange Postecoglou and his team.
