'Seriously Impressive' - Everton ace excited for next season already after what he's seen

Iliman Ndiaye is already excited for next season to play at the “seriously impressive” new Everton stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock.

The Senegal attacker has rapidly emerged as a fan favourite for the Blues after his £17 million move from Marseille last summer.

The Toffees are struggling at the wrong end of the table with a goalless draw with West Ham prior to the international break leaving them just three points above the drop.

But Ndiaye wants to make sure the team leave some lasting memories for the final campaign at Goodison Park and is excited to set foot in the new venue next term.

Speaking to the club’s official website (18 November), he said: “It really excites me a lot being here. Obviously, I wanted to be part of that history of playing in the last-ever season at Goodison Park. So many things have happened here, it’s full of history and we are the last players to represent this club here, so it’s important we give everything we have.

“Then, the new stadium that is coming, I think that excites everyone. It’s seriously impressive. The players who have been here for a long time and the players who have just arrived, I know we are all ready to give more than 100 per cent to have the best season possible and go into the new stadium in a good place.”

Iliman Ndiaye is the key to Everton survival

The 24-year-old has made an instant impact on the supporters at Goodison Park with fans already creating a song about him.

He has endeared himself to the Blues faithful with three goals in 13 appearances, the club’s second top goalscorer behind only Dwight McNeil (4).

However, the Toffees are only three points clear of the relegation zone with matches against Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City and Chelsea in the coming weeks.

The Senegal ace had seen his production take a dip before the international break with fears that opposing teams have figured out how to stifle the Blues attacker.

He is still expected to keep his starting berth but manager Sean Dyche will have to quickly figure out a way to ensure Ndiaye can impact matches, especially with Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s poor form in front of goal.

The next month will be critical in the Blues fight to retain their Premier League status and Ndiaye’s form could drag them through what threatens to be a dismal festive period.

In other Everton news, the Blues have been touted as the new landing spot for Alisson Santana.
