‘Shaky start’: Pundit says ‘fantastic’ Tottenham player is starting to get better now

Tottenham haven’t had the best of starts in the Premier League this season.

The north London club sit firmly in mid-table after winning just two of their opening five matches, but there have been some signs of improvement as of late.

Tottenham have won three games in a row in all competitions, and they looked sharp against Qarabag in the Europa League on Thursday.

Spurs’ recent improvement can partially be accredited to an upturn in form for Dominic Solanke.

The striker has now bagged in his last two appearances, and speaking on Premier League Productions, Jermaine Beckford has noted how the striker has steadied himself after a shaky start for Tottenham.

Dominic Solanke has improved

Beckford shared his verdict on the striker’s start to life at Tottenham.

“He’s doing exactly what he was brought in for. You know I’m a huge admirer of his, I thought at Bournemouth he was fantastic. Obviously he’s in a team that didn’t play brilliant football, nut he always found himself in the right areas,’ Beckford said.

“He’s starting to find his feet now at Spurs, he had a bit of a shaky start, and one or two injuries kind of got in the way, but he’s playing regularly, Brennan Johnson as well, they’re starting to understand each other.”

Dominic Solanke has started well

Jermaine Beckford says that Dominic Solanke has had a shaky start for Tottenham, but that is a harsh verdict.

Indeed, it only took Solanke three matches to get off the mark for Tottenham. By even the harshest critic’s standards, that’s not a bad return.

Solanke has pretty much picked up where he left off last season, and he could truly announce himself at Tottenham with a decisive goal against Manchester United this weekend.

Solanke’s start to Spurs has been decent enough, and now, it’s time for the England international to step it up a gear and kick on.
