Simon Jordan delivers Everton relegation verdict after Jim White 'Pressure' question on Dyche

Simon Jordan does not think Everton will be relegated this season as he responded to questions on Sean Dyche being under pressure by Jim White.

The Toffees have had a difficult start to the campaign, which sees them without a single Premier League point and out of the EFL Cup.

Consequently, White brought up the topic of Dyche’s future with Jordan when speaking live on talkSPORT on 18 September (12:10pm).

He asked: “Does Sean Dyche deserve to be under pressure at this moment in time? Might he be on thin ground?”

Jordan replied: “You say “deserve”, that is a much-interpreted word because in the football business if you don’t win matches then you’re under pressure.

“Do you deserve to be under pressure? I’d say you probably do. But do I think Everton are going to be relegated this season? No, I don’t.”

It has to be said that the former Burnley manager did a great job last season with all the problems that affected the Toffees off the pitch.

With two separate points deductions, to have the club safe from relegation with plenty of time to spare was a superb achievement.

There was a cautious optimism coming about performances on the pitch coming into the new season with the likes of Iliman Ndiaye and Jesper Lindstrom brought in to reinforce the squad.

Everton have looked promising in flashes but to have lost every Premier League game so far just has not been good enough and it means there is going to inevitable questions on Dyche.

This has only been made worse by the Bournemouth and Aston Villa games, throwing away a 2-0 lead in consecutive clashes to come away empty handed.

Throw in the fact that the Toffees are now out of the EFL Cup thanks to Ashley Young’s penalty miss against Southampton, it has been an awful start.

Dyche has the capability to get his side out of trouble but the question will be whether or not he is given the time to right the wrongs of the opening matches of the season.
