Sky journalist shares latest update on Maximilian Beier after Aston Villa and Chelsea submit bids
Very interesting...????
A Sky Sports journalist has just shared the latest on Aston Villa and Chelsea’s pursuit of Hoffenheim striker Maximilian Beier.
Aston Villa have already made seven additions in the summer transfer window and they aren’t expected to slow down.
The West Midlanders still want to add a striker to their ranks and have just submitted a bid for Hoffenheim’s Maximilian Beier.
Now, more information has surfaced about their attempts to land the 21-year-old.
Aston Villa and Chelsea not in pole position to sign Maximilian Beier
According to Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, neither Aston Villa nor Chelsea are understood to be leading the race and in fact, there’s further interest from a European giant.
Juve have held talks with the Germany international and Plettenberg has appeared to suggest they may be leading the race for his signature.
The reporter also noted that Beier is ready for a new challenge this summer and will make his decision on his next destination imminently.
He has a £25m release clause.
Maximilian Beier statistics
Beier operates mainly as a centre-forward but he can ply his trade as an attacking midfielder and off the left flank.
He netted 16 times whilst laying on three assists last term and his prolific form for the Bundesliga outfit earned him a place in Germany’s Euro 2024 squad.
The 2002-born is thought to be even faster than Manchester City’s Kyle Walker, so evidently if he were to join Villa, he’d provide them with a totally new profile in attack.
Beier could join to replace Jhon Duran, who continues to be linked with a move to West Ham United.
In other news, club decide to sell ‘great player’ for £21m with Aston Villa leading the race.
