Sources issue update on Everton takeover amid chaos at Roma over Friedkin decision - report

The Friedkin Group cannot wait to get started with their project at Everton once the takeover is greenlit, according to Mark Douglas.

The I journalist reported on 28 September that they have made contentious decisions recently at Roma which has led to a chaotic situation, but they’re not taking their foot off the pedal with regards to the Toffees.

It’s understood that it will take around two months for all the formalities to be completed before the Friedkins can officially own the club.

Douglas wrote: “It will feel like a tortuous eight-week wait for Dan and Ryan Friedkin as their £500million takeover of Everton goes through the regulatory process.

“Even though they have their hands full at Roma, where contentious recent decisions have created tumult in the Eternal city, there is – sources insist – a real hunger to get their sleeves rolled up and get started on Merseyside.

” ‘There’s a process to go through first but the project really excites them,’ one source close to the Friedkins told i this week.”

Everton must not worry about the Friedkin Group at Roma

Toffees fans should not worry about The Friedkin Group’s decisions at Roma, despite recent controversies, because they have demonstrated a transformative capability in club management.

Since acquiring the Italian club, they’ve not only stabilised them but also led them to win the Europa Conference League under Jose Mourinho, showcasing their ability to make impactful footballing decisions.

This success indicates a strategic vision that could be applied to Everton, potentially revitalising the club’s fortunes.

The Friedkins’ willingness to dive into the new project amidst their Roma commitments suggests a proactive approach to ownership, aiming for immediate engagement and long-term growth.

Their experience with Roma, including navigating through fan discontent and operational challenges, could provide invaluable insights for taking the Toffees to the next level.
