Sources share Everton takeover completion timeframe as Dyche twist emerges - report

Dan Friedkin could award Sean Dyche with an Everton contract extension after he has completed his takeover of the club, according to TEAMtalk.

The outlet reported on 23 October via sources that at this moment in time, The Friedkin Group – who are on course to complete their takeover by the end of 2024 – “are not planning” to replace the 53-year-old as the Toffees’ manager.

The report also adds that Friedkin is set to give him the “chance to earn an extension” as his contract is due to expire at the end of this season.

That can be considered a big twist given all the uncertainty regarding Dyche’s future just a few weeks ago.

Everton should keep Sean Dyche as their manager

Dyche has been through thick and thin with the Toffees since being appointed as their manager.

Last season, the 53-year-old managed to guide the club through one of the toughest periods in its history when they were deducted points by the Premier League on two separate occasions due to two breaches of the PSR guidelines.

The Toffees’ start to the 2024/25 season admittedly left a lot to be desired but, in recent weeks at least, the club have been in good form.

Everton are on a four-game unbeaten streak in the top flight and have managed to bag themselves eight points out of a possible 12.

Iliman Ndiaye and Dwight McNeil have both starred for the Merseyside outfit this term and are two of the main reasons behind their recent success.

Fans may have been calling for the head of the former Burnley manager a month or so ago due to the Toffees’ poor efforts, but the board chose to stick by him and now it finally looks like it’s starting to pay off, which is likely exactly what both parties would have wanted.
