Sources: Star agrees move to new club after quitting Tottenham

Ivan Perisic has agreed to join Hajduk Split on a permanent deal following his exit from Tottenham, sources have told Football Insider.

Spurs announced the Croatia international’s departure last week after his contract in north London came to an end.

The 35-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan with Hajduk Split after tearing his ACL in September while training with Tottenham.

Perisic is now back fit after making a playing return in March and is set to figure for Croatia at the upcoming European Championships after being selected in their 26-man squad ahead of the tournament.

The winger has an agreement in place to join Hadjuk Split permanently this summer.

Perisic will link up with the Croatian first division side after previously spending time in their academy before joining French club Sochaux in 2006.

The Split-born winger, who can also operate at left wing-back, has played more than 600 games across his career.

After joining Tottenham in 2022 on a free transfer from Inter Milan, the Croatian went on to make 50 appearances in north London, scoring one goal and registering 14 assists.

It was feared his season could be over following his ACL injury, but Perisic played seven games for Hadjuk Split towards the back end of the campaign to earn his spot in Croatia’s European Championships squad.

Perisic is joined by fellow senior players Eric Dier, Ryan Sessegnon and Japhet Tanganga in leaving Tottenham following the expiration of their contracts.

They are unlikely to be the only exits this summer after Football Insider revealed Spurs will listen to offers for eight more senior players once the transfer window reopens.
