Sources close to Davide Ancelotti have insisted there was never an offer to take charge at Everton despite reports, according to AS.

This comes after the 34-year-old has been offered a “succulent” deal from Saudi Arabia to leave Real Madrid.

The Spanish outlet detailed via their print edition on Monday (10 June, page 18) that there was never any sort of “concrete offer” on the table for a return to Merseyside.

Why Everton have not yet offered Davide Ancelotti a role

The report goes on to state that the reasoning behind why clubs are yet to offer the 34-year-old a job is because that “door is closed” for the time being.

Ancelotti has coached with his father since he was at Bayern Munich back in 2016.

Since then, he has worked with some of the world’s elite such as Napoli and obviously, Real Madrid.

Despite his youth, Ancelotti has already won an array of trophies and titles with many more still likely to come.

And, although a move to Everton is yet to come to fruition, that doesn’t mean one can be ruled out for the future.

However, for now, Dyche seems to be the right man to lead the Toffees into the 2024/25 season.

Last term, the former Burnley manager led the club to a 15th-placed finish despite receiving a six-point deduction due to their Profit and Sustainability breaches.

Things look to have picked up since their deduction, however, some assets may still have to be sold to abide by the rules.

Although a move for Ancelotti doesn’t yet seem to be on the cards, if Dyche fails to improve further on his results this season, we could see him taking over the club next season at the earliest.

In other Everton news, a Sean Dyche exit verdict has emerged amid a transfer update at Goodison Park.
