Stevie Clifford issues verdict on 'Serious Rebellion' at Ibrox amid Rangers chaos

Stevie Clifford believes a serious rebellion could be on the cards at Rangers due to the on and off-field chaos.

Writing in the Rangers Review on 22 November, Clifford admits that negativity is rife and there are very few players who are performing at a decent level.

Gers find themselves without a number of backroom roles unfilled and on the pitch, they’re in third place, nine points adrift.

Clifford wrote: “In a season where negativity is rife and trust has been lost, there are not many good performers that Rangers fans can gravitate towards in the first team.

“The situation off the field is bleak for many, there is little to encourage the support, and the moans and groans are accumulating ahead of an AGM in a few weeks which threatens to seriously ask questions of those running of the club. Protest banners are appearing regularly again, which feels like a precursor to what will be a bigger and more serious rebellion in the very near future.

“On the park, of course performances have been up and down, mainly down, and that is reflected in the league table, which has Rangers nine points behind and languishing in third. A winnable run of league fixtures should offer more hope but many are wary of a team that are as unpredictable in terms of performances and results.”

Rangers fans can only tolerate so much before it leading to serious protests

The frustration brewing among the Ibrox faithful can be traced back to years of perceived mismanagement by the board, characterised by a series of decisions that have not aligned with the club’s historical success or the expectations of their supporters.

This ongoing dissatisfaction has now reached a critical point, fueled by both the lacklustre performance on the pitch and the administrative disarray off it.

With the team languishing in third place and crucial backroom roles unfilled, fans feel neglected and disillusioned.

The appearance of protest banners at matches is a tangible sign that patience is wearing thin.

If the club’s leadership does not address these issues, the current level of protest is merely the beginning.
