'Stirring the pot' - King blasts John Textor after what he said about Everton takeover

Bryan King has accused John Textor of “stirring the pot’ after his recent comments on an Everton takeover.

The ex-Everton scout has urged Textor to “get on with” his attempted takeover attempts at Goodison Park.

While speaking in an interview with Sky Sports News (12 September), Textor claimed he is confident of a deal being agreed before the 30 November deadline in his exclusivity agreement.

However, King – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – wants to see less talking and more action.

“I saw that Everton distanced themselves from the recent comments of Textor,” King said.

“Why start stirring the pot when there are problems at the club as it is? If you’re going to buy the club then get on with it.

“However, get rid of your Crystal Palace shares first.”

John Textor to complete a takeover of Everton at Goodison Park?

There is still some way to go before Textor can complete a takeover of Everton.

First and foremost, he needs to offload his shares in Crystal Palace, to be able to press on with his Goodison Park takeover attempts as per Premier League rules.

During his interview with Sky Sports News, Textor also discussed Sean Dyche’s position at the club – which King also wasn’t best pleased about.

The American businessman has been doing a lot of talking, very openly, about his attempts to purchase Everton.

Therefore, supporters at Goodison Park will be hopeful of a deal being agreed. However, after the way things have gone, those fans will know better by now than to get their hopes up.

And after the arrival of another takeover bid (via The Guardian, 17 September), it looks as if this ongoing saga could be set for another twist.
