Everton have been offered Barcelona striker Vitor Roque, according to Graeme Bailey.
The journalist has reported (13 August) that Bournemouth have also been offered the opportunity to bring Roque to England, along with other Premier League clubs.
It comes after it was said that Everton wants to speed up negotiations in their push for Roque (Sport 45, 13 August).
Everton ready Vitor Roque transfer now
The wait for a significant takeover bid goes on for Everton [Liverpool Echo].
In the midst of all that, Sean Dyche needs to work with what he’s got. He has a decent enough squad to kickstart the new campaign, but you have to wonder just how long that’s going to last.
Another relegation battle could loom large, as could the possibility of more major outgoings.
Dyche doesn’t want to leave things to chance, and he certainly won’t want to wait until January to get things moving. He has to strike while the iron is hot and with Roque, this is the kind of leap of faith he needs to be taking.
The teenage sensation scored twice last season for Barcelona (FBref).
He hardly set the world on fire but in the appearances he did make, he showcased the kind of flair and determination that would bode well for him in the Premier League.
In other Everton news, work is being done to sign a long-term Dyche target.
