'The risk is...' - Doctor shares injury claim as player seals permanent transfer to Rangers

Connor Barron is unlikely to be carrying the aftereffects of his knee injury from back in 2022 as he joins Rangers permanently, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that Gers will have looked at all aspects while undergoing his medical before he was officially announced on 20 June.

The 21-year-old moved to Ibrox on a free transfer following the expiration of his contract at Aberdeen at the end of the season.

Discussing his situation exclusively with Ibrox News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said:

He had a significant knee injury back in the 2022/23 season which did keep him out of action for a while.

Considering his follow-up season went smoothly, the risk is likely very low of it being aggravated in the coming months.

During the medical, the club would have typically looked for any signs of wear and tear that are outside the normal based on age, use and previous injuries.

There are no red flags that emerge and it’ll be down on how he handles his lifestyle to stay injury free.

Connor Barron will bring dynamism to this Rangers midfield

Rangers will expect Barron to bring energy and dynamism to their midfield.

As a box-to-box midfielder, he will be tasked with breaking up opposition play and driving forward with the ball.

The 21-year-old’s technical ability and passing range will be crucial in dictating the tempo of games.

Rangers Philippe Clement
Philippe Clement is in need of reinforcements at Rangers.

The Scot’s versatility in playing across various midfield roles will also provide Philippe Clement with tactical flexibility and it remains to be seen whether or not the Belgian sees him as a first-team regular.

In other Rangers news, Manchester United are eyeing a shock transfer swoop for a Gers attacker this summer.
