'They will find a way to win': Chris Sutton predicts scoreline of today's Tottenham v Wolves clash

Tottenham Hotspur will be desperate to get back to winning ways when they host Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League on Sunday.

Spurs have lost their last two games and are in the midst of a major defensive crisis, with three centre-backs out injured and another a doubt going into the game.

Tottenham will take on a Wolves outfit who have enjoyed a new manager bounce under Vitor Pereira, beating both Leicester City and Manchester United.

BBC Sport pundit Chris Sutton spoke about the Lilywhites’ current woes as he predicted the result of Sunday’s Premier League game at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Chris Sutton backs Tottenham to win 2-1 against Wolves

Sutton acknowledged that Tottenham are in the midst of a defensive crisis and even claimed that Ange Postecoglou sounded “deflated” after the Forest loss.

However, the pundit backed Spurs to “find a way to win” against Wolves and predicted a narrow 2-1 win for the hosts.

“Ange Postecoglou sounded a bit deflated after Tottenham’s defeat at Nottingham Forest,” Sutton began on BBC Sport.

“While I still think he has brought so much to the Premier League, you cannot deny he needs a positive result or two.

“It definitely does not help that he is so short of fit centre-backs at the moment and, overall, says this is the worst injury crisis he has ever faced as a manager.

“Ange is just going to have to get on with it, but this game looks a lot tougher than it might have done a couple of weeks ago.

“Wolves have won their first two matches under new manager Vitor Pereira and, after shipping a load of goals under Gary O’Neil, they kept two clean sheets too.

“I am still backing Spurs here though, despite their defensive issues. They did not score against Forest but had some decent chances and, at home, I think they will find a way to win.”

Tottenham v Wolves team news

Tottenham defender Radu Dragusin injured his ankle against Nottingham Forest and faces a late fitness test ahead of the Wolves game.

Meanwhile, Ben Davies is set for an extended stay on the sidelines after suffering a setback in his recovery from a hamstring injury in training.

Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, Guglielmo Vicario, Mikey Moore, Richarlison and Wilson Odobert are still injured, while Djed Spence is suspended.

Postecoglou could perhaps even name Alfie Dorrington in the Tottenham starting XI against Wolves, such is the gravity of the defensive situation at N17.

Meanwhile, Wolves could have Mario Lemina back for the trip to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after missing Vitor Pereira’s first two games with a calf injury.

Pablo Sarabia is expected to miss out again due to a calf issue, while Yerson Mosquera, Boubacar Traore, Enso Gonzalez and Sasa Kalajdzic remain out long-term.
