Tom English issues James Bisgrove replacement claim at Rangers with new Clement admission made

Tom English has slammed Rangers and Philippe Clement as the club are in disarray on and off the pitch.

The BBC journalist claimed on 1 November that there is no sign of a replacement for James Bisgrove despite the announcement of his departure five months ago.

English also believes that Clement is rightly getting flak as the Ibrox outfit find themselves nine points off first place.

He wrote on X: “It’s been more than five months since Rangers announced that James Bisgrove was leaving as chief executive. Still no sign of a replacement. Total inertia.

“Philippe Clement deserves all the heat he’s getting, but it’s like the entire club is frozen to the spot right now.”

Rangers have plenty of fires they need to put out as soon as possible

The absence of a replacement for Bisgrove, coupled with the team’s poor performance under Clement, paints a picture of organisational inertia and mismanagement.

Clement’s tactical decisions have drawn ire due to lacklustre results, yet the lack of decisive action from the board, including not replacing key administrative figures or making a managerial change, reflects a deeper structural issue.

This not only impacts on-field performances, where Gers find themselves trailing significantly in the league, but also suggests a governance problem off the pitch.

The club’s failure to act swiftly on either front, whether in sacking Clement or making key backroom hires, indicates a lack of strategic direction, leadership and the financial or structural capability to make necessary changes.

This situation leaves Rangers in limbo, languishing in mediocrity while their rivals capitalise on their hesitance.

Managers have been sacked for less and it’s baffling to most onlookers as to how Clement is still in the job.

In other Rangers news, a league winning manager is now the favourite to take over the reins from Philippe Clement.
