'Too big' - Rangers told to avoid attacker transfer already

Rangers should avoid pursuing a deal to sign Bayern Munich winger Yusuf Kabadayi this summer, according to SchalkeZone.

In an interview with the Rangers Review, the Schalke fan-led news page suggested that a transfer to Ibrox would be “too big” at this stage of the 20-year-old’s career.

SchalkeZone only rated Kabadayi’s impact in Gelsenkirchen as a 5/10, saying that he struggled to be effective playing in a variety of positions and recorded just four goals with zero assists.

Florian Plettenberg first linked the Germany under-20 wideman to the Gers on 5 June, but SchalkeZone’s interview implies that he is not yet ready to play a big part in Philippe Clement’s title-chasing side [X].

Rangers ready to make big changes out wide next season

The Gers may still be tempted to pursue a deal for Kabadayi this summer, particularly given that Clement is leading a much-needed overhaul of the existing squad at Ibrox.

In the attacking third, those changes have already begun at pace, with Kemar Roofe departing on a free transfer and loan players Abdallah Sima and Fabio Silva both returning to their parent clubs.

An agreement has been reached for another 20-year-old winger, Oscar Cortes, to head back to Ibrox on another season-long loan before a permanent transfer further down the track [Daily Record].

Rangers Philippe Clement
Philippe Clement could pursue a deal to sign Yusuf Kabadayi this summer.

Ross McCausland’s late-season surge in form may not save him from a transfer that has been mooted by several pundits, potentially leaving just Tom Lawrence, Cortes, Rabbi Matondo and Scott Wright as options for Clement [Open Goal].

The defence has been the priority for the Belgian so far in this transfer window, but as attentions turn to his wide attacking stocks, Clement may be keen for Rangers to explore a deal for another young forward in Kabadayi [The Scotsman].

In other Rangers news, a Premier League midfielder with “great quality” is now up for grabs this summer amid a recent development with a move to Ibrox on the cards.
