Tottenham Expert predicts academy gem to make Spurs debut v Qarabağ FK

John Wenham expects Will Lankshear and Mikey Moore to feature for Tottenham against Qarabağ FK.

The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose has speculated that both players could come off the bench against Qarabağ.

Spurs will host the Azerbaijani Premier League champions in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday (26 September).

And Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – wants to see the North London side put in a convincing performance.

“Perhaps Moore might start or feature from the bench,” Wenham said.

“Realistically we’re probably looking at him coming on from the bench. However, hopefully, he gets around half an hour instead of a few minutes, that would be really good.

“In this kind of fixture, we need to be exerting our authority and starting this Europa League campaign with a convincing win.

“If we can involve some of our better younger players, such as Moore, even better. We could see Lankshear make an appearance from the bench, that would be superb.”

Will Lankshear and Mikey Moore to feature for Tottenham v Qarabağ FK?

With all due respect to Qarabağ, Ange Postecoglou’s side are a far superior team.

Therefore, they should be able to win this match quite comfortably, which would allow Postecoglou to hand some young players minutes off the bench.

And Moore and Lankshear are arguably the club’s two most talented young players, with the former doing plenty of work behind the scenes to make an impression.

Moore has already made several appearances for Spurs’ first team. However, Lankshear is yet to make his competitive senior debut, with the 19-year-old having featured and scored during pre-season.

As a result, he will be hoping that Postecoglou finally gives him the nod on Thursday.

In other Tottenham news, the club could recall a “special” loanee in January.
