Tottenham eye goalkeeper as ‘really hot’ Guglielmo Vicario transfer news emerges

Inter Milan are interested in signing Guglielmo Vicario from Tottenham, according to InterLive.

The Italian outlet reported via their website (23 December) that the “market axis” between Spurs and Inter could become “really hot” in the summer as the Serie A club eye national team players and the North London giants monitor Davide Frattesi and Yann Bisseck.

Ange Postecoglou’s side, for their part, are happy with Vicario’s performances, but are considering signing a new number one.

Vicario has been Spurs’ first-choice goalkeeper since arriving from Empoli for £17.2million in 2023 [Sky Sports], making 55 appearances across all competitions.

However, Postecoglou’s side have been credited with interest in several goalkeepers in recent months, including Lille’s Lucas Chevalier [TBR Football].

While some of those links have come in the wake of the Italy international’s injury, a few are seemingly options to become their future number one.

Although it is unclear what Tottenham’s stance over selling Vicario is, it is hard to see the 28-year-old wanting to stay in London if they sign a new first-choice goalkeeper and Inter are still interested.

With the Udine-born shot-stopper still sidelined and Fraser Forster not suited to Postecoglou’s side, it would not be a surprise if Daniel Levy entered the market for a new goalkeeper in the January transfer window.

James Trafford has reportedly emerged as an option for the Lilywhites, with the Burnley star keen to return to the Premier League [talkSPORT].
