Tottenham fan aims horrible abuse at Postecoglou in shock footage at Bournemouth

A Tottenham fan aimed a foul-mouth slur at Ange Postecoglou after the 1-0 loss to Bournemouth on Thursday.

The Lilywhites were defeated 1-0 on the south coast with a 17th minute Dean Huijsen header ensuring that the Cherries leapfrog Postecoglou’s side in the Premier League table.

The result leaves Spurs tenth, six points behind the top four after just one win in four league matches.

As the manager approached the away supporters following the loss, he was booed and heckled and one fan could be heard shouting: “[expletive] off, you fat [expletive]” in a video shared on X.

Tottenham fans should be patient with Postecoglou

The Australian has been in the dugout at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for just over 18 months and his side secured a fifth-place finish last campaign.

Frustration is understandable given that the team is so inconsistent, they went from losing to newly-promoted Ipswich to hammering defending champions Manchester City 4-0 to drawing with Fulham and losing to Bournemouth.

However, Postecoglou should be given more time, despite speculation surrounding his future, he should not be under pressure right now.

He should be allowed at least another two transfer windows to truly stamp his influence on the squad, some of his additions have really impressed already like Micky van der Ven, Dejan Kulusevski and Guglielmo Vicario.

The club have also been unfortunate with injuries so far this season, the most important of which is Vicario being ruled out for the foreseeable future.

Fans need to get behind the former Celtic boss and support the long-term vision, not give him vile abuse from the stands.
