'Hit badly' - Doctor: Tottenham player likely to be out v Chelsea, age may play role in recovery

Tottenham attacker Mikey Moore appears hit badly by a virus and is expected to miss the Chelsea clash as well, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that as he’s younger, he is less robust so it might take him longer to recover and return to full fitness.

The 17-year-old has not played a game for Spurs since the 2-1 win over Manchester City on 30 October and is not expected to be ready for the clash against the Blues on 8 December at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Discussing the state of play with Moore exclusively with Tottenham News, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, shared his verdict.

This sounds like he was just hit badly by the virus that he had and he has lost significant fitness,” he said.

The fact that he’s younger may also mean he’s less robust physically and needs a longer runway to recover.

Best protocol for Spurs to deal with this will be a methodical and progressive one that is very careful with his symptoms and fitness.

This is why he’s been penned down to be back not before 12 December so he’s likely to be out until next weekend.

Mikey Moore has been an option iff the bench for Tottenham

While the Englishman has not been a regular starter, he’s been an option for Ange Postecoglou to have on the bench.

He has been brought off the bench thrice in the league this season and has been handed the majority of his minutes in the Europa League.

Hopefully, the virus has not affected him too badly and prevents him from returning before the end of the year.
