Tottenham in pursuit of Swansea City duo as transfer race leaders emerge 

Tottenham are admirers of Swansea City youth duo Harlan Perry and Brogan Popham, according to The Mirror.

The newspaper reported via its website on 6 October that although Spurs are interested in the duo, their interest isn’t as strong as that of Manchester United or Manchester City.

City and United are now “locking horns” for the pair and both teams have already scheduled meetings with their representatives.

If a move were to be made by any of the teams, the Swans would be due a compensation fee as Perry and Popham are both still on scholarship terms.

Tottenham looking to bolster their youth ranks

Tottenham have found themselves under some stick recently in terms of their on-pitch performances and, while their academy has always provided stellar talents such as Harry Kane, it’s clear to see why Spurs want to bring the Welsh duo in.

In terms of their youth ranks at the moment, Dane Scarlett is a name that many will likely recognise.

The striker has been one of the highest-regarded talents from Spurs’ academy in recent times but, after a frustrating start to life at Oxford United, John Wenham has mooted the possibility of the attacker being recalled.

Mikey Moore is another Tottenham youth prospect who has been in the headlines recently.

The winger has been involved with Ange Postecoglou’s first team on numerous occasions this term with the 17-year-old even playing four times for Spurs thus far.

His performances have been a joy to watch since his inclusion in the first team and it feels as if the youngster is forcing his way into the starting XI.

Should Spurs step up their interest in the Swansea duo, their youth ranks would be bursting at the seams with talent and could make them a real force to be reckoned with in future years.
