Tottenham set off AC Milan ‘sirens’ for Tijjani Reijnders transfer, wages to be doubled

Tottenham have set off “sirens” at AC Milan with their interest in Tijjani Reijnders, according to Calciomercato.

The Italian outlet reported via its website on 7 November that Spurs, as well as Manchester City, have been tracking the midfielder for months.

However, the Netherlands international is leaning towards signing a new contract at San Siro, where there is “great confidence” a deal will be struck to double his wages.

There are no doubts about Reijnders’ abilities, with his touch, spatial awareness and reading of the game highly regarded.

However, Ange Postecoglou currently has six senior midfielders at his disposal and it remains to be seen where the 26-year-old will fit in even if a transfer comes to fruition.

Signing a midfielder, though, appears to be high on Tottenham’s agenda, with the club also credited with an interest in Lille’s Angel Gomes (GiveMeSport).

Yves Bissouma and Rodrigo Bentancur are set to enter the final year of their contracts next summer and it is hard to see the North London club adding another midfielder to their ranks without selling one of them.

Meanwhile, planning is seemingly underway to bolster options in other positions, with Boca Juniors winger Kevin Zanon under consideration (CaughtOffside).

It, therefore, remains to be seen if the club intend to make major additions to their squad in the upcoming January transfer window.
