Tottenham Women sign Anna Csiki after club announcement today

Tottenham Women have announced the signing of Hungarian midfielder Anna Csiki from BK Hacken.

Spurs announced the arrival on their official website [6 September] with Csiki penning a four-year deal at the Gaughan Group Stadium.

The 24-year-old arrives in North London after four years in Sweden winning the Damallsvenskan and Swedish Cup and will wear the number 14 shirt in the Women’s Super League this season.

Robert Vilahamn continues to make his mark on his Spurs side and has pulled off a fantastic coup with the signing of Csiki.

The Swede has returned to his former side BK Hacken to reunite with Csiki, she enjoyed her best goalscoring campaign under the Spurs boss with four goals in 25 appearances.

She was a regular feature in the UEFA Women’s Champions League during her time in Sweden and she brings a track record of winning trophies spanning back to her spell in her native Hungary, winning the NB I league title twice and the Hungarian Women’s Cup on three occasions.

Vilahamn has endured his fair share of challenges throughout the summer, he has lost several key stars including Celin Bizet who completed a move to Manchester United [BBC Sport], replaced by the arrival of forward Hayley Raso from Real Madrid [Ben Jacobs].

The Swede will be eager to build on his impressive debut season with Spurs, his side finished sixth in the WSL and reached the Adobe Women’s FA Cup final.

His side finished 19 points behind North London rivals Arsenal in the final Champions League qualifying place in third, there is still a lot of work for Spurs to bridge the gap to their rivals in the WSL but the addition of an established Champions League midfielder is certainly a step in the right direction.
