‘Toughest’: Tino Livramento says £50m Arsenal player is the best he’s ever come up against

Tino Livramento may only be a young footballer, but he’s played against some of the best in the business.

Indeed, from the Chelsea academy to his season at Southampton to playing Champions League football with Newcastle, Livramento has played against some incredible players.

The Newcastle ace has faced off against the likes of Mohamed Salah, Cole Palmer and Bukayo Saka over the years.

However, according to the full-back, Raheem Sterling is the toughest player he’s ever had to play against.

Indeed, speaking to TalkSPORT, Livramento named Raheem Sterling as his toughest ever opponent.

Raheem Sterling is one of the best around

It’s easy to forget after a difficult couple of years at Chelsea, but Raheem Sterling is one of the best wingers in world football when he’s at his best.

This is a player who once hit 20 league goals in a season for Manchester City and scored a hat-trick in an FA Cup final.

Sterling, at his best, is an absolute nightmare to defend. He’s fast, he’s smart and he knows when to make runs at the right times.

Confidence is a massive thing for any footballer, and while we haven’t seen the best of Sterling in recent years, under the tutelage of Mikel Arteta, there’s reason to believe the England international could get back to his best.

Livramento is no slouch. He’s one of the best right-backs in the Premier League right now, and if Sterling was able to give him a tough time, that is a testament to his quality.

Sterling will be hoping to rediscover his best form and make a serious difference in this Arsenal team this season.
