'Trent Alexander-Arnold decided on Real Madrid move': Liverpool fans fume

Trent Alexander-Arnold already has his head at Real Madrid following his performance for Liverpool against Fulham, a number of the club’s fans have claimed.

The right-back is one of several high-profile players who is due to be out of contract at Anfield in the summer, with some suggestions he is less keen to his stay than the likes of Mo Salah or Virgil van Dijk.

Amid that, the England international has been heavily linked with a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid.

Now it appears as though many Liverpool supporters have accepted that Alexander-Arnold is focusing on that move, and that it will happen, after Saturday’s (14 December) clash with Fulham ended in a 2-2 draw.

It was the visitors who took the lead after just 11 minutes at Anfield on Saturday. Alexander-Arnold got nowhere near left-back Antonee Robinson as he crossed for Andreas Pereira to tap in at the back post.

After Andy Robertson was sent off moments later for Liverpool, the hosts still levelled through Cody Gakpo just after half-time.

But Fulham though took the lead once more, exploiting the space Alexander-Arnold had left on his side of the pitch from where Alex Iwobi played in Robinson to tee up Rodrigo Muniz to go 2-1 up.

Although Arne Slot’s men then snatched a late equaliser to earn a point from Diogo Jota, many of their supporters were far from happy with their right-back as they reacted to the game on social media.

Indeed, many now seem to believe that they are seeing the final few months of Alexander-Arnold playing in a Liverpool shirt, as he is effectively “already in Madrid”, with Arne Slot told to “bench” the right-back until he gets there in person.

In other news, one West Ham player has been tipped to complete a move to Liverpool.
