'Unbelievable' - Sky Sports pundit stunned by what Everton ace did v Fulham

Louis Saha was blown away after Idrissa Gueye was denied by the crossbar as Everton drew 1-1 to Fulham on Saturday (26 October).

After the ball was worked to the Senegalese midfielder, he unleashed a striker from the edge of the box and had beaten goalkeeper Bernd Leno, but could not beat the crossbar as well.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin did well to pounce on the rebound, sending the Goodison Park crowd into a frenzy, only for a VAR review to chalk off another chance to the striker to get on the scoresheet.

Speaking live via Sky Sports on Saturday (26 October, 6:21pm), Saha said: “The strike is deserving of a finish. It’s unbelievable.”

Jamie Redknapp replied: “This is a great angle – look at the dip,” before Saha added: “Oh… Unbelievable, unbelievable.”

Idrissa Gueye inches from perfection in Everton loss v Fulham

The Toffees had to be saved by Beto in the final stages, having been pegged back by an Alex Iwobi strike, with the two sides sharing the points at Goodison Park.

There were certainly positive signs during the clash, with Gueye’s strike from distance being one of them, and Sean Dyche’s side had to wait until the fourth minute of added time to hit back.

The Toffees now sit six points above the relegation zone, and while only Ipswich Town are between them and eighteenth-place Crystal Palace, the Merseyside club are undefeated in six games.

Despite winning eight points from their last four games prior to the Fulham clash, Dyche’s team are still very much in the relegation conversation, and upcoming games against Southampton and West Ham will be key.

Dyche’s side have now won nine points from their last five games, and while they are still in the relegation conversation, upcoming games against Southampton and West Ham can now be seen as building blocks rather than difficult challenges.

In other Everton news, Jason Cundy made an “enormous” claim about the Toffees after what Aston Villa did recently.
