Liverpool supporters are convinced that Virgil Van Dijk is going to remain at the football club after a reported contract offer has taken place.

According to David Ornstein of The Athletic, Liverpool have made an offer to the club captain and an opening proposal took place some time ago.

There has been no breakthrough yet on the length of the deal or its value, but talks are taking place with the Netherlands international about extending his contract which expires next summer.

As it stands, the 33-year-old will be free to open talks with foreign clubs in January and could even sign a pre-contract agreement if he’s happy with the offer.

However, the Premier League giants appear to be keen on retaining his services moving forward under Arne Slot.

It was also noted that an offer for Mohamed Salah is anticipated soon, while dialogue is also taking place with Trent Alexander-Arnold.
