'Insane': ESPN pundit shocked at what 'fantastic' Aston Villa player has done on int'l duty

Aston Villa have enjoyed a rather impressive start to their Premier League campaign with just the one loss coming against Arsenal.

Unai Emery was backed heavily in the summer transfer window.

The likes of Amadou Onana, Ian Maatsen, Cameron Archer, Jaden Philogene, Samuel Iling-Junior, Lewis Dobbin, Ross Barkley and Enzo Barrenechea all made the move to the Midlands.

However, Onana, Maatsen and Barkley have been the only players really utilised at Aston Villa so far.

Of course, the squad depth is a nice thing for Emery to have but it seems as if a lot of these signings have been rather wasted already.

Iling-Junior has already joined Bologna on loan, despite being involved in the Douglas Luiz swap deal.

With it being the international break, Emery has the opportunity to perhaps work with some of his new players and learn more about them with the club’s stars away on international duty.

But, it appears as if one particular player has found himself in the headlines for what he’s just done…

Frank Leboeuf not happy with what Aston Villa star has just done on international duty

Emiliano Martinez has been a bit of a loose cannon at times on international duty with crazy celebrations and over the top reactions often getting him in trouble.

And, it looks as if he let himself go once again as Argentina played Chile.

ESPN pundit Frank Leboeuf couldn’t believe his eyes when speaking on ESPN FC’s YouTube channel as Emiliano Martinez repeated his obscene World Cup celebration.

“I don’t know what Martinez is trying to do, what kind of message he’s sending to the world.

“You know we are talking about Courtois being the best goalkeeper in the world and I think that Emiliano Martinez is very close to that, he’s a fantastic goalkeeper.

“Why do you have to do that. I mean I can’t even understand, I mean that’s insane.”

What has Emiliano Martinez got up to in the past?

Martinez was called the ‘most hated man’ after his antics in the Copa America shootout between Argentina and Ecuador earlier on in the year.

The goalkeeper seems to get possessed whenever he’s on international duty and comes out with all these bizarre celebrations and outbursts.

Gabriel Martinelli spoke out a couple of months ago about how important Martinez was during his time at Arsenal despite him being nothing more than a back-up there.

And, he’s since gone on to establish himself as one of the best goalkeepers in world football, as well as an expert when it comes to penalty shootouts.

But, as impressive as Martinez is, he often lets himself down with how he acts.
