Tottenham were all over the place defensively against Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday.
Arne Slot’s side ran out 6-3 winners at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on 22 December in one of the craziest matches in recent memory, with Ange Postecoglou made to regret leaving out one player.
Most of Spurs’ stars were all over the place in North London, with Gary Neville unable to help himself from laughing after what one player did.
However, few summarised Tottenham’s shortcomings quite as well as Drăgușin did. While speaking at half time on Sky Sports [22 December], Jamie Redknapp said, while discussing the third goal Spurs conceded, “That’s Djed Spence who’s playing left-back, they just end up in a real mess, Archie Gray, everyone.”
And when it comes to Spurs’ defensive mistakes on Sunday, Drăgușin was just as bad as anyone else.

Supporters will likely forgive Gray and Spence, with the latter an 18-year-old midfielder while the former has hardly played this season. However, there will be less sympathy for Pedro Porro and Drăgușin.
Both of those players are far more experienced than Gray, while they have also played plenty more minutes than Spence, and Drăgușin in particular really let Postecoglou down and summed up the Spurs “mess” at the back.
As per Sofascore, while the centre-back did make six clearances, one interception and complete 82 per cent of his passes, that was about all he did on what was a very busy afternoon in the Tottenham half.
When it came to his long balls, the Romanian was accurate with just one of the 11 he attempted, while he didn’t contest a single ground duel and also won just 33 per cent of his duels in the air.
In addition, he also gave possession away 14 times, as Liverpool went forward at ease. It was a miserable afternoon at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and one which will take some getting over.
However, Postecoglou and his players will need to put this behind them quickly, as next up is a trip to the City Ground to take on high-flying Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on Thursday [26 December].
In other Tottenham news, the club and one big-name player are apart on a new contract agreement.
