Ange Postecoglou would be wise to take a closer look at Tottenham Under-21 midfielder Callum Olusesi.

It has been a positive year on the youth front in North London.

Both Mikey Moore and Will Lankshear have burst onto the scenes, making their first senior starts this term, with Moore tipped to push for a permanent first-team role.

Some of Spurs’ young players are also making an impression while out on loan away from the club, while Under-21s star Olusesi has used the international stage to make a statement.

While in action for England’s Under-18s against Ukraine’s Under-18s in Marbella on Monday (14 October), the midfielder bagged a brace, which acted as the “inspiration” for the Young Lions’ 3-1 victory (via England Football, 14 October).

Therefore, it might be time for Postecoglou to sit up and take notice of the 17-year-old.

Callum Olusesi to make an impression under Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham?

Postecoglou has shown he is not afraid to call on young players this season. As a result, there is no reason why Olusesi shouldn’t be handed an opportunity at first-team level as a reward for his bright form, at least in the UEFA Europa League.

Despite only being 17, he has been starring for Spurs’ Under-21s this season, netting three goals in six Premier League 2 matches.

He recently captained Wayne Burnett’s side and scored in a 5-2 win over Arsenal’s Under-21s at Meadow Park (5 October), a match in which another promising youngster shone.

His promising form has seen loan speculation emerge. However, before any potential move in January, Postecoglou must get a closer look at Olusesi.

While he might not be quite ready for the same opportunities as Moore, he certainly seems to be on the right path.
