Ange Postecoglou would be wise to keep an eye on Tottenham Under-18s midfielder Jamel Beggs.

Spurs have several talented youngsters breaking through in North London.

Therefore, it appears as though Postecoglou will soon have plenty of choice on who to promote and hand first-team opportunities to, especially with some of the club’s talented youngsters putting pen to paper on long-term deals.

With the likes of Mikey Moore and Lucá Williams-Barnett already making waves, it appears as though there are also some lesser-known players making an impact at Hotspur Way.

Midfielder Beggs has started all eight of Spurs’ Under-18 Premier League matches this season, and recently scored his first goal for the club, despite the North London side eventually losing.

Stuart Lewis’ side let a 2-0 lead slip as they were beaten 3-2 by West Bromwich Albion’s Under-18s at Hotspur Way in the Under-18 Premier League on Saturday (26 October).

However, before the second-half collapse, there were plenty of positives for Spurs to take, including 16-year-old Beggs grabbing his first goal for the club, as well as Reiss Elliott-Parris.

Three of the club’s regular starters were away on England Under-17 duty, which partly explains the result at Hotspur Way.

As a result, Postecoglou and Spurs’ coaches will be delighted to see that other players can step up when the regulars are away, even if they were beaten narrowly in the end.

And with Beggs yet to celebrate his 17th birthday, and already making an impact at Under-18 level, he represents yet another exciting young player for Postecoglou to keep an eye on.
