Tottenham Women defender Amanda Nildén has been making an impact for Sweden Women over the international break.

Robert Vilahamn’s side have been in poor form as of late.

After going unbeaten in their first four matches of the 2024/25 campaign, they have lost their last three games in the Barclays Women’s Super League.

Therefore, it is clear that the North London side need some kind of boost.

And Vilahamn will be hopeful that Nildén can be the one to provide that boost after her positive form while away on international duty.

Nildén started and played the full 90 minutes as Sweden beat Luxembourg Women 4-0 in the first leg of their Women’s UEFA EURO 2025 play-off first-round at the Stade Emile Mayrisch on Friday (25 October).

As well as helping her side keep a clean sheet, she also grabbed an assist on what was her 10th appearance for her country. Nildén’s Spurs teammate, Matilda Vinberg, also featured as a substitute on the night.

Ahead of the international break, Nildén scored her first Tottenham goal since joining the club this past January, as the North London side lost 5-2 to Chelsea Women in the WSL at Kingsmeadow on Sunday 20 October.

However, despite the goal, it turned out to be a night to forget for the left-back as she also scored an own goal, was dribbled past twice and won just 50 per cent of her ground duels, although she did complete 74 per cent of her passes (Sofascore), a sign of potential for Vilahamn.

And the Spurs boss will be hoping that Nildén’s performance for Sweden gives her a much-needed confidence boost and sees her return to England in improved form.
