Ange Postecoglou could make six changes when Tottenham host Qarabağ FK in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday (26 September).
Spurs responded to their 1-0 defeat to Arsenal at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (15 September) by recording back-to-back wins.
The 2-1 victory at Coventry City in the third round of the Carabao Cup was perhaps rather fortunate, with some players not doing much good for their long-term future at the club.
Nonetheless, they got over the line and followed that victory up with a 3-1 win over Brentford at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday (21 September).
Therefore, Postecoglou will be hoping that this most recent week has been a turning point after a relatively poor start to the season.
As a result, he will be keen to build on his side’s momentum and claim a third consecutive victory over Qarabağ, in what would be his first European win as Tottenham boss.
Despite the importance of kicking off their Europa League campaign with a convincing win, with the games coming thick and fast, changes will need to be made.
However, after seeing how his team played at Coventry City after making eight changes, Postecoglou might be cautious not to disrupt the team so much again.

Guglielmo Vicario looked shaky against Brentford and was perhaps rather fortunate not to get himself in trouble after appearing to handle the ball outside of the box. As per Sofascore, the Italian made one error which led to a shot.
Therefore, Postecoglou might look to take him out of the spotlight and start Fraser Forster, although the 36-year-old will need to do a lot better than he did against Coventry City.
Cristian Romero is suspended, which would likely mean Radu Drăgușin starts alongside Micky van de Ven. The Romania international looked good against Coventry City, winning 100 per cent of his aerial duels and completing 92 per cent of his passes.
Archie Gray could once again deputise for Pedro Porro at right-back, having done so in the Carabao Cup, during which he won 100 per cent of his ground duels and completed 92 per cent of his passes.
Meanwhile, Destiny Udogie could keep his place at left-back as he looks to continue rediscovering his best form. The 21-year-old put in arguably his best performance of the season against the Bees, making six tackles, winning eight ground duels and playing one key pass.
In midfield, James Maddison could keep his place as he also looks to continue rediscovering his best form. Just like Udogie, his performance against Brentford was arguably his best of the season, with the Englishman opening his account for the 2024/25 campaign.
Lucas Bergvall is likely to be handed just his second Tottenham start alongside Maddison, while Yves Bissouma could complete the midfield three after returning from injury off the bench against Brentford.
The Mali international completed 100 per cent of his passes and made one crucial tackle which set Spurs on their way to score their third against Thomas Frank’s side.
Ange Postecoglou to axe Son Heung-min v Qarabağ FK
In attack, Brennan Johnson and Dominic Solanke could both be handed starts.
Johnson continued to silence his critics with his second goal in as many games against Brentford, while he also played one key pass and missed a big chance.
As for Solanke, the striker got his first goal in Tottenham colours last time out. However, he failed to impress elsewhere, only completing 53 per cent of his passes and missing three big chances.
Therefore, Postecoglou will want to see much more from him in the Europa League.
On the left, club captain Son Heung-min could be handed a rest after grabbing two assists against Brentford, with Timo Werner likely to come in for the South Korean.
However, just like Forster, he will need to show much more than he did against Coventry City when he made one error which led to a shot and failed to complete a successful dribble from three attempts.
In other Tottenham news, a takeover of the club is surely edging closer as fresh investment talks take place.
