Sean Dyche is safe at Everton for the time being after the 3-2 loss to Aston Villa, according to BBC Sport.
BBC report Shamoon Hafez reported via the outlet’s website [15 September] that sources within the club feel the 53-year-old has built up enough good fortune at the Blues to be given the chance to turn around his side’s fortunes.
Everton sit at the foot of the Premier League table on goal difference, level with Tuesday’s (17 September) Carabao Cup opponents Southampton after four consecutive losses.
Sean Dyche is safe at Everton for now but for how long?
While Dyche is safe at Everton for now, it will likely not be the case for much longer with prospective owner John Textor set to decide on the future of the Blues boss [The Telegraph] should he complete his takeover.
Once the long-term financial future is resolved, the Blues must look to improve matters on the pitch, with the players and the manager aligning with their long-term ambitions.
The beginning of a new era at the Bramley-Moore Dock stadium next season brings all the hope that the Blues will be able to turn over a new leaf but, at the moment, it seems that second-tier football in the Championship awaits the new stadium next season – unless things turn around soon.
Even if Dyche manages to secure their Premier League status for another season, there is only so long that Everton can flirt with relegation before eventually meeting the drop.
Everton have now failed to win two consecutive Premier League matches after taking a two-goal lead and they join Bournemouth as the only other side to achieve such an infamous feat in the competition’s history.
Any side that faces the Blues this season will fancy their chances to overturn the deficit and the psychological damage on the players of facing this fate twice in as many games is a worrying concern moving forward.
Every match that passes without an Everton win will increase the pressure on Dyche, and it is becoming increasingly apparent that his days at Goodison Park are numbered despite the backing of senior officials.
