Dan Friedkin already looks set to anger the Everton fanbase even before the takeover deal at Goodison Park has been completed.

According to Alan Myers [20 June], while the takeover bid is still subject to the Premier League’s approval, Friedkin should become the new owner within the next six to eight weeks.

Though fans are extremely excited about the prospect of Farhad Moshiri’s reign coming to an end, and rightly so, the new owner’s first decision could be about to rattle the majority of the fanbase.

And based on a new survey, completed by GrandOldTeam via Twitter [30 June], that decision could make him an already disliked figure at the club, with fans giving him a 95 per cent approval rate.

Just 4.6 per cent of fans were “unsatisfied” or “very unsatisfied” with Dyche in the dugout.

Dyche has become a much-loved figure at Goodison Park, having saved the club from near-certain relegation last season, and even the season before.

The 52-year-old has been handed one of the toughest jobs in the Premier League, battling against PSR issues, points deductions, the need for player sales and a fight against the risk of relegation.

Everton fought against dropping into the bottom three teams for the majority of the 2023/24 campaign, eventually securing four matches and a draw in a row, sealing the club’s safety with three two matches remaining.

There are few managers who could do what Dyche has already done during his tenure, yet Friedkin could still get rid of him as one of his first actions as owner.

In other Everton news, Dominic Calvert-Lewin is set to leave Goodison Park as a new transfer closes in.
