Sean Dyche could be the manager to unlock Armando Broja’s potential at Everton as the striker continues his recovery from injury.

The Athletic reported on 9 October that those at Goodison Park feel Broja can hit the lofty heights expected of him once the Chelsea loanee makes his long-awaited debut on Merseyside.

Broja signed for the Toffees on Deadline Day in a loan move with a £30million option to buy, and once he’s fit and firing on all cylinders, Dyche could have the free-scoring number nine he craves at Goodison.

The Albanian’s injury worries will delay his debut until November at the earliest [Klaudio Ndreca, 1 October], but the Blues’ long-time admiration of the striker suggests they’ll do all they can to make sure he’s worth the wait.

Everton could be more reliant on Armando Broja than they realise

When Broja does finally make his bow in blue, he’ll do so as Dyche’s third-choice striker, with Beto and clear number-one pick Dominic Calvert-Lewin firmly ahead of him in the pecking order.

However, with the January transfer window quickly coming into view, and Dan Friedkin’s impending takeover set to be ratified before the New Year, it could be all change for Broja and the club as a whole.

Beto, out of favour and heading out on international duty for the first time this month, has been linked with a switch to Roma [AS Roma Live, 5 October] – the other club in a top European league already owned by Friedkin.

Calvert-Lewin’s contractual dispute with the club is also nothing new, and by January, he could sign a pre-contract with another team elsewhere in Europe to leave the Toffees for free in the summer.

That could leave Broja – still only on loan by that point – as Dyche’s main striker until the end of the season at least, and for that not to become a burden, he simply must hit the ground running.

Given the hype around his move and long-term injury rehabilitation, Broja must be ready to explode.

In other Everton news, the Toffees have prioritised the position where they need to make a signing in the January transfer window.
