Although the summer transfer window has been open for less than a month so far, plenty of change has been afoot at Everton.

The Toffees have already added the likes of Jack Harrison and Tim Iroegbunam to their ranks and don’t look to be stopping any time soon.

One of the most recent links has been with that of Hull City ace Jaden Philogene [Daily Mail, 28 June].

The Merseyside club have entered the race and could make him their third summer signing, with Hull said to be open to offers of £16million.

Should his transfer become official, the Toffees’ starting 11 could look much different on the opening day of the Premier League season – and that is not to mention any further incoming arrivals.

Everton potential starting XI after Jaden Philogene transfer

Exits for both Jarrad Branthwaite and Amadou Onana have been touted throughout the entirety of the transfer window thus far.

However, for now at least, it seems as if the pair will be staying in Merseyside.

This means that the defence could stay largely the same but it’s elsewhere that the Toffees are likely to see major changes.

Jordan Pickford will obviously be between the sticks, while Branthwaite and James Tarkowski will be sat at centre-back.

Full-back is an area of the pitch that can be up for discussion. However, the most likely scenario is Seamus Coleman in at right-back whilst Ashley Young is deployed on the left.

Now onto midfield. Idrissa Gueye and Onana will occupy the centre of the pitch, while returning Harrison and newcomer Philogene would take up either flank.

In attacking midfield, it will more than likely be Abdoulaye Doucoure who starts. Last but certainly not least, leading the line will – fingers crossed – probably be Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Granted, Iroegbunam will probably get the odd game here and there but it would be a surprise to see him starting week-in and week-out for the Toffees in the early stages of his Goodison Park career.

Dwight McNeil has been a solid signing for Everton since arriving from Burnley, meanwhile, but both Harrison and Philogene would just beat him to a starting spot.

The full-backs are very much interchangeable. However, for the opening day of the season, it’s likely that Sean Dyche will want to ensure stability at the back.

In other Everton news, Fabrizio Romano has shared where Manchester United stand with regards to their interest in Jarrad Branthwaite.
