Ange Postecoglou may decide to give Malachi Hardy his Tottenham debut against Southampton on Sunday.
Spurs are in cruise control at St Mary’s on 15 December and have gone into half-time with a resounding 5-0 lead.
With crucial games coming ahead and the three points secured, Postecoglou could look to hand some of his fringe and never-seen-before players a chance including Hardy, who has been around the first-team picture.
Malachi Hardy is in line to make his Tottenham debut at 16
The young centre-back has made seven appearances for the Under-18s side this season and is on the bench against Saints.
He also was part of the matchday squad on Thursday against Rangers and has trained with the senior side in the past.
The 16-year-old has started all the seven games he’s played so it’s evident that he’s among the better players in the club’s academy.
Hardy has even bagged the odd goal [Sofascore] and he could be a danger from set pieces if Postecoglou does get him on in the second half.
One thing that Postecoglou may ask him to be careful about is his competitive streak as he’s already got sent off this season.
Apart from that, there’s nothing glaring about his game that suggests he cannot be introduced in the second half against Saints.
In other Tottenham news, David Ornstein has issued an update from his sources on Ange Postecoglou’s sack at the club.
