View: Nils Koppen must move fast as club chief confirms bids for Rangers target

Rapid Bucharest sporting director Daniel Sandu has revealed that “good offers” have been made for Rangers transfer target Albion Rrahmani.

The Gers have been tracking Rrahmani this summer, with Nils Koppen reportedly meeting the player’s representatives over a possible move.

However, it appears Rangers are not the only club interested in the Kosovo international.

Speaking to Sport Romania (11 June), Sandu said: “Rrahmani will be at training tomorrow. I don’t know if he’s leaving.

“The transfer window opens in June. It lasts until September. [There’s] time for all kinds of moves.

“I expect more players from Rapid to leave. There are good offers for [Rrahmani].”

Would Albion Rrahmani be a good signing for Rangers?

Rrahmani enjoyed a superb 2023/24 season for Rapid Bucharest in terms of production in front of goal despite an ankle injury that affected his game time.

Since arriving at the Romanian club last August, the forward has scored 17 goals and laid on five assists in just 26 appearances across all competitions totalling 2,205 minutes.

What is striking about the attacker – who turns 24 in August – is his tendency to score in bunches. He netted twice in three of his first four league appearances for Rapid Bucharest, getting his career at his new club off to a flying start.

If he can replicate that at Rangers – assuming a deal for the striker gets over the line – he will quickly endear himself to the Ibrox faithful.

With other offers seemingly on the table, though, Nils Koppen will need to move fast.
