Philippe Clement will surely be sacked by Rangers if he continues to start Mohamed Diomande.

The Belgian has come under fire from the Ibrox fanbase after a difficult start to the campaign has left his side trailing Celtic by 11 points.

Pressure has continued to pile on the ex-Monaco manager after falling to a 1-1 draw against Dundee United on Saturday 23 November.

If Clement wants to avoid the sack from Nils Koppen and Co. he has to make changes to his side and could start by dropping Diomande.

The Ivory Coast international hasn’t found his feet for the Light Blues since making his move from Nordsjælland permanent in the summer.

At £4.3million [Sky Sports], the 23-year-old represented a large outlay for the Ibrox club but he is yet to live up to the expectations placed upon him.

The midfielder continued to frustrate against the Tangerines as he failed to have any sort of positive impact before being hooked at half time.

This saw Clement prove a point that he isn’t afraid to drop the big names from his side as he looks to change the tide in Govan.

In the case of the clash against Jim Goodwin’s side, the change didn’t help the Gers secure a win but moving forward having the creativity of Ianis Hagi from the start ahead of Diomande could be an attacking boost.

It could prove to be a risk for the Belgian and the prospect of keeping his job if he continues to start the Ivorian given his poor form. A change makes sense for all parties.
